After Shao Khan’s defeat at the end of 2011’s Mortal Kombat 9, Mileena took her father’s place as the ruler of Outworld - only to be brutally killed by the treacherous D’Vorah in one of Mortal Kombat X’s most shocking moments. Being a hybrid of the divine Edenians and the monstrous Tarkata of Outworld, Mileena possessed superhuman speed, strength, and agility, along with an insatiable bloodlust that was only amplified by her intense desire to kill her blood-sister Kitana in the titular Mortal Kombat tournament. Making her first appearance in 1993’s Mortal Kombat II, Mileena is the supernaturally-created daughter of the evil Shao Khan, born in Shang Tsung's Flesh Pits as a clone of the heroic princess Kitana. Even MK co-creator Ed Boon has taken notice of some of these on social media, sharing them just as he does with hints about upcoming NetherRealm projects. NetherRealm’s long-running fighting game franchise has inspired cosplayers for almost thirty years, with fans dressing up as Mortal Kombat mainstays like Raiden, Skarlet, and D’Vorah.
